Carbon Monoxide/ CO Detectors

Carbon monoxide (CO) is the number one cause of poisoning deaths in the United States. According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, there are approximately 2,100 unintentional deaths from carbon monoxide every year in the U.S.; the use of CO detectors could potentially prevent many of these fatalities. In addition, more than 10,000 CO injuries occur annually from this colorless, odorless, and tasteless poison. In order to protect yourself against carbon monoxide poisoning, we do offer CO detectors that can be connected to your alarm system, and will notify the proper authorities if you have a carbon monoxide situation in your home.

Gas Detection

Ever wonder what could happen to your home if you had a gas leak? Would you know about it in time? Well, with a gas detector installed by Rappaport Alarms, Inc., you will be notified once the leak happens and before any damage can occur!

 Low-Temperature Sensors

Winter is a time when we all love to take our families to warmer climates for vacation. We pack up our stuff, turn the heat down in the house, and off we go. Did you ever wonder what would happen if the heat broke in your house and the pipes froze? Well, if this were to happen, you would arrive to a very unpleasant situation; generally, frozen pipes explode!

A low-temperature sensor installed properly in each heated zone of your home can protect you against freezing pipes.

How do they work? Our technicians would program these devices to trip if the temperature in your home falls below a pre-determined temperature (one that is close to allowing your pipes to freeze), and the alarm system would then send a warning signal to central station. An operator would then get in touch with you, call a plumber for you, or whatever you may need. That’s just another example of the peace of mind that Rappaport Alarms, Inc. can offer you.

WaterBugs

WaterBugs are wonderful devices that can help prevent your home from being destroyed by a burst pipe or water heater. How many times has a homeowner not known there is a flood in the basement until it was too late?

We would strategically place these WaterBugs in your home or business to notify you if and when you have a water situation.

Pool Alarms

Pool alarms are designed to save lives! If you have a swimming pool in your yard, you should ALWAYS install a pool alarm on any door that leads out to that area. Not only is it a law in many municipalities, but it can save the life of a child.

Pool alarms are simple, stand-alone devices that can be installed on your conventional door, sliding glass door, gate, etc. If anyone opens one of those doors without first bypassing the device – which is installed at a level where a child cannot bypass it – a loud screeching noise would notify you that a child is entering the pool area. Anyone who has children is aware that it is impossible to keep an eye on them at all times. With a pool alarm, you have one less thing to worry about!

These are just a few examples of environmental protection devices. If you have a specific concern, give us a call and we will offer you a solution.
